The Santa Cop Program is a 30-plus year community effort by the Arlington Police Association Foundation and Arlington Police Department in conjunction with the Arlington Independent School District to provide a memorable Christmas for the less fortunate children of Arlington. The program has evolved from police officers providing Christmas trees, food and gifts to families in their beat to providing toys and supplies for over 400 families and more than 1200 children at our annual parties we host.

The Santa Cop Program currently identifies needy families through social workers and counselors at targeted AISD elementary schools. A large party is thrown for these families where refreshments, good cheer, and even Santa is on hand to provide for a festive time. Groupings of schools are provided their very own party time so that each party is specialized for that group.

The Santa Cop Program has community support from Arlington Children’s Toys, Inc., Arlington Citizens Police Academy Alumni, the employees of Six Flags over Texas and Hurricane Harbor, Girl Scouts, and Arlington Music Hall, The Dallas Derby Devils, Capes for Kindess, and many other local groups.
